GFI FaxMaker FaxServer service uses standard ADSI interfaces (which is provided by Microsoft Windows) to retrieve property information of an Active Directory user (represented by an UID).  GFI FaxMaker does not control which Domain Controller will be used to connect. It is solely handled by ADSI.
