Overview

The GFI FaxMaker Fax Server service is unable to render faxes in the queue without administrative privileges.

Root Cause

• This issue occurs when Active Directory is installed on the system.
• It affects the ability of the GFI FaxMaker Fax Server service to verify user-license unless the logged-on account is of a domain administrator.

Process

To change the GFI FaxMaker Fax Server service to run under an administrator account, proceed with the following steps: 

1. Open the Services Panel (Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services).
2. Locate and double-click the GFI FaxMaker Fax Server service.
3. Select the Log On tab.
4. In the 'Log on as:' section and select 'This account'.
5. Specify an account having Local / Domain administrative rights in the format <Domain>\<User>.
6. Provide the correct password for the specified account.
7. Click the Apply button.
8. Select the General tab.
9. Click the Start button to start the service.
