Does GFI FAXmaker support Linux and UNIX clients?

GFI FAXmaker supports sending faxes from Linux and UNIX clients. GFI FAXmaker relies on standards, such as PDF and SMTP. Because of this, Linux desktops and servers can easily send and receive faxes using GFI FAXmaker.

Sending faxes:

Faxes can be sent from any OpenOffice application. After the document has been created, simply select 'Send document as PDF attachment'. This will convert the document to PDF format and open up your default mail client. Address the fax in the SMTP format, i.e., <faxnumber>@faxmaker.com

Faxes can also be sent from any application running on the KDE desktop, via the Kprinter interface. Simply print to Kprinter from the application. From the Kprinter interface select 'mail pdf file'. This will convert the document to PDF and open up your default mail client.

Receiving faxes:

You can configure GFI FAXmaker to forward all received faxes in PDF format. Almost any Linux mail client can read PDF file attachments.
