Overview
The Exinda 2061 appliances come standard with 4GB of RAM and cannot be upgraded further.
While many Exinda appliances are created on and based on server platforms, the 2061 is a specially created unit that runs at lower power than standard server platforms. As a result, the 2061 is often recommended for small deployments, without a large amount of traffic going through it. The system specifications reflect this in both CPU and RAM.
Information
The 2061 unit comes standard with 4GB of RAM and cannot be upgraded past this point, unlike Exindas based on server platforms (i.e. 4061, 6062, etc).
The CPU in a 2061 unit is an Intel Atom, meaning that it differs in architecture from standard x86 / x64 CPU chipsets. One of the limitations of the Atom architecture is that it cannot support more than 4GB of RAM. As a result, even if there are additional DIMM slots free on the motherboard, making it appear as though it is possible to add more RAM, it is not possible. Any upgrade necessary requires new hardware.
If a 2061 device is running out of RAM, it might be necessary for a hardware upgrade in order to support the traffic at the site. If this is the case, please contact a member of the sales team.
