Overview

While attempting to update Kerio Connect built-in Antivirus plugin on macOS Catalina, the following server error is returned:

AntivirusModule.cpp: Antivirus Server error(0): Unable to fetch updates: HTTPError (-2106)

This message indicates that Bitdefender engine is not able to establish HTTP connection in order to supply database virus updates.

Environment

• macOS Catalina 10.15
• Kerio Connect 9.2.11 and older

Solution

Kerio Connect Antivirus is based on the 3rd-party Bitdefender Software Development Kit (SDK) and engine. The above error message is caused by outdated Bitdefender SDK that was used by Kerio Connect. The Development Kit was updated to the 3.0.1.204 version. The Kerio Connect 9.2.12 includes the new Bitdefender library. For more information, please refer to Kerio Connect Product editions.

It's recommended to upgrade your Kerio Connect to resolve the Antivirus problem mentioned above.
