PROBLEM
GFI MailEssentials Pop2Exchange service stops unexpectedly, or is unable to start.
ENVIRONMENT
- GFI MailEssentials
- all supported environments
SOLUTION
Follow these instructions below to repair the pop2exchange.xml file:
- Stop the GFI MailEssentials Pop2exchange service
- Rename the Pop2exchange.xml file to e.g. Pop2exchange.oldxml. This file can be found at:
- x86bit: ..\Program Files\GFI\MailEsentials\Antispam\
- x64bit: ..\Program Files (x86)\GFI\MailEssentials\Antispam\
- Start the GFI MailEssentials Pop2exchange service
- Create only one mailbox in the list of Pop2exchange
- Wait for 15 min
Note: The content of the Pop2exchange.xml was corrupt. Please proceed in adding new mailboxes into the pop2exchange list.
CAUSE
If the GFI MailEssentials Pop2Exchange Service stops, pop2exchange.xml might be corrupt. In those instances traces can be found in the system log protocol - error 7034 (Service stops unexpected).
