Error: 'Failed [Personal Blocklist]' Appears in the Scan Result Column Within the GFI MailEssentials Dashboard

Overview

The error message "Failed [Personal Blocklist]" appears in the Scan Result column within the GFI MailEssentials dashboard.

The PWBL-DBHandling log shows:

Error: An error occurred. Error Message: File version mismatch detected between ADO.NET Provider and native binaries of SQL Server Compact which could result in an incorrect functionality. This could be due to the presence of multiple instances of SQL Server Compact of different versions. Please install SQL Server Compact binaries of matching version [ADO.NET Provider File Version = 3.5.5692.*, Native Binary File Version = 3.5.8080.*]"
Antispam\DebugLogs\PWLBL-DBHandling.log(473):

Root Cause

This issue can occur if there are multiple instances of Microsoft SQL Server Compact of different versions or if the Microsoft SQL Server Compact installation is corrupt.

Resolution

Reinstall or repair the Microsoft SQL Server Compact.
