Overview

GFI Archiver contains different components. Each of them can have different version numbers. This article explains which versions belong to each other and how to identify which version is in use. It is generally recommended to run the most up-to-date versions. Certain issues can be fixed by ensuring that you upgrade to the latest version of these components.

Information

The following describes different ways to determine the version of an installed component:

• GFI Archiver server
  • Open the web interface as an administrator and navigate to the Home tab. The version is listed in a widget on this page.
  • Open ..\<InstallationPath>\Core\Data\MArcSettings.xml and search for the tag <ProductBuild>
  • Check the registry keys: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\GFI\MAR*\Build and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\GFI\MAR*\Build
    
    
    
• Outlook Connector (This is a 'per computer' installation)
  • Open Microsoft Outlook, click the Outlook Connector menu item or ribbon and select About.
  • Check the registry keys: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\GFI\MAROC\Build and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\GFI\MAROC\Build
    
    
    
• Archive Assistant (This is a 'per user' installation)
  • Open Microsoft Outlook, click the Archive Assistant menu item or ribbon and select About.
  • Check the registry keys: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\GFI\MAROutlookAddon\Build and
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wow6432Node\GFI\MAROutlookAddon\Build
    
    
    
• File Archive Assistant (This is a 'per user' installation)
  
  • Right-click the File Archive Assistant icon in the system tray and select About.
  • Check the registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\GFI\MARFAA\Build
    
    
    
• GFI Directory
  • Open the web interface and click on the question mark icon in the top right corner of the screen, then click on About.
  • Check the registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\GFI\Directory\Build
