Error: "Invalid username passed." is shown when logging into the GFI MailArchiver home screen.

Environment

GFI MailArchiver 2011 up to R3

Microsoft Internet Explorer 9

Root Cause

Support for IE9 was introduced with GFI MailArchiver 2011 R4.

Resolution

You need to run Microsoft Internet Explorer 9 in Compatibility view to access the versions mentioned.

To add GFI MailArchiver to the list of websites shown in Compatibility view:

1. From this screen, press the ALT key on your keyboard to launch the Microsoft Internet Explorer 9 Menu bar.
2. In the Menu bar, click Tools > Compatibility View Settings
3. In the Compatibility View Settings dialog, the Add this website field should automatically be populated with the address of the GFI MailArchiver site. If it is not, copy the GFI MailArchiver site address in this field.
4. Click Add. GFI MailArchiver site is added to the Websites you’ve added to Compatibility View list.
5. Click Close.
