PROBLEM

The installation or upgrade of GFI Archiver fails and performs a rollback.

Error in the marc*_x64.log or marc*_x86.log located in the %temp% directory after a failed installation:  

ENVIRONMENT

• GFI Archiver
• All supported environments

SOLUTION

1. Open Start > Run> and type %temp%
2. Delete the contents of this folder (Windows temporary folder)
3. Restart the server
4. Disable or set exclusions for UAC

5. Set an Antivirus exclusion for the ../GFI Directory (default locations below)

• C:\Program Files\GFI
• C:\Program Files (x86)\GFI

CAUSE

Files in the Temp folder are conflicting with the installation of GFI Archiver or UAC and/or Antivirus software is preventing the installation of GFI Archiver.
