Overview
When having printer devices behind a firewall on a LAN environment, sometimes, configuring a rule to allow the communication with other devices, e.g., PCs, mobiles, etc., is not enough to make certain features to work.
There may be instances, for example, in which you would like to enable an advanced feature that needs to send scanned documents to an external email account. In such cases, a NAT is required to make this feature work. This article provides relevant information to be applied in such cases.
Environment
Kerio Control
Prerequisites
Admin access to Kerio Control Admin WebUI.
Resolution
A basic traffic rule should be already in place. To configure it, refer to Configuring Traffic Rules.
If the traffic rule for printers is already added and the feature is still not working, the traffic rule may be missing the NAT configuration, as shown below:
In this case, you need to add a NAT rule with load balancing to fix this issue, as shown in the below image:
