Overview

 

When changing network IP addresses in FaxMaker, most devices are not affected. Meanwhile, Fax over IP (FoIP) devices are required to have proper IP addresses in their configuration. This article provides the steps on how to check and change the Fax Server IP addresses in FoIP devices.

Information

 

There are three FoIP devices supported by GFI FaxMaker:

• Brooktrout SR140

• Brooktrout physical cards with a 1N designation in the model number

• TE-Systems XCAPI

 

Brooktrout SR140

 

You will notice that the server IP address is used in the Contact IPv4 address and the From Value fields. To change the values for these fields, complete the following steps:

1. Open the Brooktrout Configuration Tool (run program as administrator) from Start > Programs > GFI FaxMaker Brooktrout TR1034 Drivers x64.

2. On the left pane, select the SIP option.

3. On the right pane, select the IP Parameters tab.

4. The From Value and the Contact IPv4 Address fields contain the server's IP address. Change the server IP address and click the Save and Apply button to restart the Brooktrout Boston service:

Brooktrout Physical Card

 

The 1N designation represents an Ethernet port on the card, including any other ports that may be available depending on the card. To change its IP address:

1. Follow the steps above on how to change the IP address of the server in the SIP configuration for Brooktrout SR140.

   Note: These steps may not apply in all scenarios since the IP address of the Brooktrout card is separate from the IP address of the server.

2. Select the card on the left pane and ensure that the Call Control Type option is set to IP:

   

3. On the Ethernet/IP Port tab, you will be able to see the IP configuration of the Brooktrout card. Change the IP address, if required.

   Important: The IP address of the Brootrout card is different from the IP address of the server. 

4. Select the Save and Apply button after changing the IP address values to restart the Brooktrout Boston service:

TE-Systems XCAPI

 

In TE-Systems XCAPI, the server IP address is used as the default SIP domain when the controller has been configured. To change the IP address:

1. Open the XCAPI Configuration program by going to Start > Programs > XCAPI > XCAPI Configuration.

2. Expand the Controller option and your specific controller on the left pane.

3. Select the SIP option.

4. Go to the Default SIP Domain field to change the IP address.

5. Click the Save icon on the top toolbar and restart the FaxMaker services:
