Error Creating Process ( Path to gfisetup.exe ) When Upgrading FaxMaker

Overview

Users encounter the following error message when upgrading GFI FaxMaker:

Error creating process ( path to gfisetup.exe ) Reason:C\windows\system32\advpack.dll

Environment

  • GFI FaxMaker
  • All Environments

Resolution

  1. Delete the %temp% folder of the environment variable.
  2. Set the environment variable to a new path. For example, C:\Temp2
  3. Log onto the server with administrative rights to the local machine and install the upgrade.
