Answer
PROBLEM
After upgrading from a Dialogic® Brooktrout® TR114 DID/COMBO Fax Board to a Dialogic® Brooktrout® TR1034 DID/COMBO Fax Board, using a cable that was used with the TR114 fax board, only the Analog Loop Start ports will work, and the DID ports will not work.ENVIRONMENT
- GFI FaxMaker
- All Supported Environments
SOLUTION
- Use the cables supplied with the TR1034 board.
- Alternatively, rewire the Telco DID jacks to reverse the polarity as shown below:
A RJ48/45 DID plug on the TR1034 has the following pin assignment:
Pin 3 = Tip 1
Pin 4 = Ring 0
Pin 5 = Tip 0
Pin 6 = Ring 1
A RJ48/45 DID plug on the TR114 has the following pin assignment:
Pin 3 = Ring 1
Pin 4 = Tip 0
Pin 5 = Ring 0
Pin 6 = Tip 1
CAUSE
The TR114 and TR1034 boards use different pinouts for tip and ring. Unlike regular Loop Start Analog lines, a DID line is specific about which pin on the cable is tip and which is ring.
