MailEssentials | Spam Keyword checking blocks emails if a word from a rule is part of another word

Versions / Builds Affected

GFI MailEssentials 2015

Status

Resolved

Problem Summary

Spam Keyword checking blocks emails if a word from a rule is part of another word (ex: Document contains the blacklisted word "cum")

TT / JIRAID

1977

How to Identify

In the spam keyword checking module "Body" you are allowed to Match whole words only. In the subject section it does not match whole words only. If you place the Subject "Document" which would be used quiet a bit in businesses it will be blocked due to Spam Keyword "cum" found in the Rules. The Rule that is default for cum is "horny OR anal OR cock OR cum OR lesbian"

Workaround / Fix Details

Upgrade to latest version of MailEssentials (at least 20.3). Enable the "Match whole words only" option in the Body section. Note: This option works for both Body and Subject.
