Installation of GFI MailEssentials fails referencing dbcreate.dledb script error when upgrading databases

When trying to install / upgrade GFI MailEssentials the process stops throwing a similar error in the install log file found under the %temp% folder:
1: CreateUpdateMDB 2: upgrade from Access reporting DB settings to Firebird 
1: CreateUpdateMDB 2: ExecuteSQLStatement >> update [dledb] set [dbbackend]=2,[dbpath]='C:\Program Files\GFI\MailEssentials\data\reports.fdb' where [dbbackend]=0 and [id]=1 
1: CreateUpdateMDB 2: ExecuteSQLStatement >> update [dledb] set [dbpath]='C:\Program Files\GFI\MailEssentials\data\reports.fdb' where [dbbackend]=1 and [id]=1

The issue is caused by a corrupt Microsoft Windows WMI component. Repairing the WMI component can solve the issue .
