Overview

GFI LanGuard older versions are not downloading the latest patches producing Program Update failures "Error downloading file. Incomplete transfer." or there are errors while scanning, for example, "Full security applications audit failed".

This article defines the list of current versions that receive new definitions via Program Updates.

Diagnosis

Since LanGuard is a security-based application, the updated definitions are only provided to the latest versions of the product that are released. The current versions that receive the updated definitions are:

• 11.4 (OEM Installations only)
• 12.4
• 12.5

Other versions will report failures during the Program Update process. The most common failure that you can see:

Error downloading file. Incomplete transfer.

The inability to get updates and definitions also may lead to various errors during the scanning process, for example:

Full security applications audit failed.

Solution

If you are on any other version apart from what is listed above, you should upgrade to the latest version of the product to receive the latest definitions.

Testing

After upgrading to the latest version, open LanGuard console, go to Configuration Tab and Check for Updates under Program Updates. Verify that the error message is gone.
