How to Identify

When installing the EndPointSecurity agent, the following version 3.0 key is created: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Installer\Products\FF78C672A29003F4F9B247F554856246 When you install any other software after, an error is logged in the Application event log: Unexpected or missing value (name: 'PackageCode', value: 'unknown') in key 'HKLM\Software\Classes\Installer\Products\FF78C672A29003F4F9B247F554856246' Everything works as expected and there is no problem with EndPointSecurity or the installed software, this is just an event being logged in the Application event log.

Workaround / Fix Details

Fixed in EndPointSecurity 2013 build 20130306
