Error: "UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP because of FLMGR.SYS" on Windows 10

Overview

You may encounter a BSOD with the following error message:

Error: UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP because of FLMGR.SYS

This error occurs when an EndPointSecurity agent is installed on Windows 10 version 1803 or later.

The latest version of EndPointSecurity supports Windows operating systems up to Windows 10 version 1709. Due to the End of Engineering status of the product, this issue will not be fixed.

Workaround

As a workaround, you can:

• Install and use Windows 10 version 1709 or older.
• Remove the EndPointSecurity agent (if you need to use one of the latest versions of Windows 10).
