Overview
GFI WebMonitor 2013 now includes a small footprint agent that is designed to be installed on laptops and notebooks. This agent provides web filtering, monitoring and protection for users when they are outside the corporate network.
Information
- This new GFI WebMonitor Agent can be installed on computers running Microsoft Windows Vista SP2 or later. At this time, installations on server platforms (such as Microsoft Server 2008/2008 R2/2012) have not been through full testing cycles, but it is expected that they will work well.
- Other operating systems are currently not supported. Announcements will be made and this article updated if and when other operating systems will be supported.
- When installing a newer version of the GFI WebMonitor Agent, the current installation is upgraded and all current configurations of the agent are maintained. It is not necessary to uninstall the older version of the agent.
- GFI WebMonitor filters web traffic over ports 80, 443 and 8080. Web traffic over other ports is not filtered by the GFI WebMonitor agent.
