PROBLEM

GFI WebMonitor policies do not apply applying when browsing with Internet Explorer 11.

ENVIRONMENT

  • GFI WebMonitor 
  • Microsoft Windows 8.1 or Windows Server 2012 R2

SOLUTION

Disable EPM:
  1. Open the Control Panel
  2. Select Network and Internet > Internet Options
  3. Open the Advanced tab
  4. Uncheck the Enable Enhanced Protected Mode option

CAUSE

This problem is caused by EPM (Enhanced Protection Mode) which is activated by default on Microsoft Internet Explorer 11 from Microsoft Windows 8.1 or higher. EPM blocks all the requests which is originated from Internet zone to Local Zone on the loopback address.
