How to Identify

Filezilla is not working when using the proxy. It can show different error messages like: Error Proxy reply: HTTP/1.1 407 Proxy Authentication Required (Previous logon failed) Error: Proxy handshake failed: ECONNRESET - Connection reset by peer Error: Connection timed out after 20 seconds of inactivity Error: Failed to retrieve directory listing

Workaround / Fix Details

The issue is caused because Filezilla is trying first a connection to the server using the hostname of the server and then, a second connection using the IP. In order to bypass it you need the following: 1. ping the hostname of the FTP server to obtain the correct IP of the Server 2. Browse to ...\GFI\WebMonitor\Data and make a backup of the proxy.config.xml 3.
