Overview

When you install a new instance of Exinda Virtual Machine (VM), the licensing system is not aware of the generation of this new VM, so it needs to be fed with this information. This article provides instructions to obtain a Trial License for a newly installed Exinda Virtual Machine.

Process

Follow the instructions provided below:

1. Obtain the Host ID of the newly generated Exinda VM:

   • Navigate to Dashboard >System make a note of the Host ID.

   • Optionally enter the following commands from the Command Line Interface (CLI):

     1. enable

     2. show version

2. Visit the Virtual Appliance Licensing to request a Trial License for the newly generated Exinda VM.

1. Enter the Host-ID for the Exinda Virtual Appliance.

2. Select the License Type for the Virtual Appliance.

3. Enter your E-mail Address and select the Hypervisor Type on which you have installed the Virtual Appliance.

4. Click Create. Your Trial License is emailed to the address provided.
