How to migrate Filter Rules for GFI Webmonitor

Answer

There may be times when the Filter Rules need to be migrated from an old server to a new or a backup copy needs to be imported in to a fresh installation. Please see the steps below to migrate the Filter Rules below. 

1. Stop all GFI Webmonitor Services 
2. Navigate to ..\Program Files\GFI\Webmonitor\Data 
3. Rename FilterRules.xml to FilterRules.old 
4. Place the FilterRules.xml from the old installation in to the new installation 
5. Start all GFI services 

You should now be able to see all of the old Whitelist and Blocklist entries from the previous server or backup file.
