How can I re-download a clean version of the Webgrade database?

Answer

If you are seeing peculiar results when querying the WebGrade database or suspect it is not functioning as it should, you can download a fresh copy of the WebGrade database as follows:

GFI WebMonitor 10 and earlier
  1. Go to the ..\Program Files\GFI\WebMonitor\Updates> folder. 
  2. Rename WebGrade or WebGrade_2 to WebGrade_old
  3. Open the GFI WebMonitor Management Console
  4. Navigate to the Settings under the gear icon
  5. In the left pane under the Security & Updates section select WebGrade.
  6. Select the Update Now option

GFI WebMonitor 11 and later

  1. Go to the ..\Program Files\GFI\WebMonitor\Updates> folder. 
  2. Rename webgrade_3 to WebGrade_old
  3. Open the GFI WebMonitor Management Console
  4. Navigate to the Settings under the gear icon
  5. In the left pane under the Security & Updates section select WebGrade.
  6. Select the Update Now option
This procedure creates a new WebGrade folder in the updates folder which contain the latest WebGrade categorization URLs. The size of the database is around 2.3 GB. It may take some time to download.
