Overview

This article provides instructions to enable the Directed call pickup feature in Kerio Operator, which is helpful when you want to allow pick up calls directed to any extension at the PBX.

Information

Consider the following example:

  • The Managing Director, Peter, uses the extension 101.

  • The Financial Director, Oscar, uses the extension 102.

  • They share an assistant.

If the assistant's phone displays information that someone is calling the Managing Director during his meeting with the Financial Director, the assistant can accept the call by dialing **101.

Once the assistant picks up the call, they can arrange a meeting for the Managing Director. A few minutes later, the phone at the desk of the Financial Director starts ringing while he is in a meeting. Again, the assistant can accept this call at their desk phone. Now the assistant enters the code **102 and recommends the caller to call back later.

By dialing the Directed call pickup code, calls can be answered for any PBX extension.
