Overview
Garbled fax is a general term for incomplete and/or poor quality faxes.
Information
Faxes can become garbled during the fax transmission, and common factors affecting this might be:
- Poor telephone line condition.
- Line noises.
- Faults on the receiving/sending device.
Line noises can be detected and corrected by using ECM (Error Correction Mode) on both fax devices (submitting and receiving end). ECM is enabled by default on GFI FaxMaker. The option can be found in the properties of the line > Line Options tab.
