Overview

You are observing the following crash behaviors in the EndPointSecurity Service:

• The service crashes, especially when there is a large number of agents (1000+).

• The service will crash randomly, but more often if an activity like deployment is in progress.

Root Cause

These behaviors are identified as a service defect which has been resolved by applying the update patch.

Resolution

Download and install the EndPointSecurity 2011_07_29 patch. If an update is not feasible at the moment, you can set the beepinterval parameter in the toolcfg_advancedSettings.xml configuration file to a higher value which tends to reduce the frequency of the crash as a workaround.
